Recommended essential preparations to enjoy your weekend even more:

Good preparation enhances the anticipation and guarantees a perfect party weekend. Often it’s the small things, which make life much easier. As you'll be staying outdoors, it would be a good idea to have the following gear at hand:

  • Tent and camping gear (especially ground sheets and tarps – it can get wet and cold from the dew at night). Safety & warmth = comfort = happy campers.
  • Sleeping bag, blankets, chairs, and mats (feel free to bring any other furniture to make your stay comfortable).
  • Camping crockery, cutlery and a can/bottle opener
  • Flashlights and batteries – Head torches are invaluable for night time navigation!
  • Warm clothes for the nights
  • Water + container (there will be free water onsite, but no free water containers)
  • Snacks, fruit etc
  • Sun block SPF 15, a hat and insect repellent
  • Toilet paper (plenty of portaloos on site, but it’s good to be prepared in case the toilet paper faerie visits us and takes all the loo paper towards the end of the event!)
  • Baby wipes and first aid kit (including panadol and berrocca for your hangovers), and any prescription medication you may require
  • Garbage bags – keep the forest beautiful, take your garbage home with you.
  • Musical instruments, costumes for yourself. Decorations for your camp/mini-village
  • If you can take a spare set of car keys do it – give one to a friend for safe keeping.
  • Your ticket or paypal receipt for the festival, ID, and cash. There will be no access to an ATM at Dragon Dreaming, but there are plenty ATMs in Queanbeyan, 4km from the site
  • BYO alcoholic drinks. No alcohol will be sold on the premises, BYO is welcome.
  • Please leave unnecessary items at home, including your pets. It is a condition of our use of the ACT Govt land that no animals are admitted into Kowen Forest. Instead, take lots of photos and tell your favourite pet about your adventure when you return home Surprised)

First Aid:
St John’s First Aid officers will be on duty 24/7, however they will not dispense headache medication. Please refer to the festival layout guide upon arrival for the location of the first aid tent.

If you take medication for any conditions, make sure you have enough for the duration of the weekend. Ensure your friends know what to do in case of an emergency. If possible, wear a medic-alert bracelet or necklace.

Money
There is no ATM at Dragon Dreaming. The festival will be brimming with market stalls selling everything from awesome clothing to tasty food and chai, home made jewellery and homeopathic remedies – you wouldn’t want to miss out, would you?? ATMs available in Queanbeyan, 4kms from festival site, and at the Canberra Airport.

Conditions of Entry

  • Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated. We have friendly security for your safety. Drink responsibly and look out for others.
  • Leave your pets at home. Anyone arriving at the gate with an animal will be turned you away (we are happy to provide you with details of the nearest boarding kennel).
  • No fires permitted. There will be designated areas for fires throughout the festival during night time. All other fires will be put out.

LASTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY

Have a really good time! That's what it's all about you're going out to enjoy yourself and have fun. With a bit of pre-festival planning and some common sense, you can help you make sure you'll have a brilliant time and be safe at the same time. Like most things, a bit of awareness goes a long, long way.

Take care of yourself and of each other, the safest we can all be at a festival is when we take responsibility for ourselves and care enough to help those around us - a festival really is a special place, make sure you keep it that way.

See you all at Dragon Dreaming 2008!
