GALACTIC CENTRE 2007
We are proud to announce that Galactic Centre 2007 was a resounding success on every level!
Over five hundred people of many ages and walks of life, travelled not only from Canberra, but also from Sydney, the Blue Mountains, South Coast, and even Melbourne to attend our event. Being in winter, these numbers were far beyond our expectations and as such, truly remarkable!
We would like to thank each and every person who attended. It was not just our effort, but that of the general sum of people including crowd and artists alike, which combined to form a completely trouble free, incredibly amicable and tolerant community atmosphere. Well done, and an enormous thankyou to you all!
Showcasing an extraordinary array of arts and music, ranging from 2d visuals, sculpture, and installation art, to video projection, computer graphics and performance, combined with a diverse range of musical talent from live instruments, to DJ’s and various electronic music producers performing their compositions live, Galactic centre presented a high quality eclectic mix of local, national and international acts. We would like to thank all artists involved in this event and look forward to working with you in the future for bigger and better events giving further exposure to your work and providing more opportunities for you to exhibit in the National Capital.
We would also like to thank all the crews involved in the event. Servants of Sound is made up of 15 people who all had massive input into the event, but we were supported by a number of other equally important crews:
Special thanks for Galactic Centre goes to (in no particular order):
Tim and his crew from Figureight Productions for the awesome dome - guys, it was a pleasure.
Pete (Luminous Lights) - thanks heaps for all your hard work.
Andy (The Professor) - we truly appreciate your sound and beautiful music. As always a consummate professional and genuine nice guy to boot.
Hugo (Metal Wizard) - your music is incredible, thanks for helping make our event something special!
Charlie McMahon (Rhythm Organizm) - as always you blew us away.

And to all our local DJs, you guys are world class talent and we look forward to dancing with you more!

ARTIST BIOs
RHYTHM ORGANIZM aka CHARLIE MCMAHON
A truly unique and talented performer, Charlie has a very impressive music career spanning over 25 years. As a 5 year old Charlie made his first didjeridu sounds, now days he mainly plays the pitch shift DIDJERIBONE amplified with the FACE BASS a seismic sensor, of his own invention. His sound is organic, melodic, powerful, and TOTALLY 100% LIVE as he layers multiple didj riffs to create a rich sonic tapestry of groovy beats and swirling trance inducing sounds. A Rhythm Organism he clearly is.
Charlie recently did his Rhythm Organism tour of 18 club dates in Japan and is set to rock Galactic Centre 07 in a amazing verses set with THE PROFESSOR!

METAL WIZARD (Portugal) live
After rocking the sun rise dance floor at REGEN 07 the wizard from Portugal is back for a blistering performance at GALACTIC CENTRE infusing live electric guitar with a pristine morning full on sound.
If you missed him at REGEN, here's one last chance to see him work his magic before he leaves our shores!
SUNRUNNER (EPP Records/top bloke) vs SOL CONNECTION (EPP Records/champion)
Official press release:
Born twins, separated at birth and hailing from a spiral galaxy in the far reaches of the universe, Sunrunner (Dwight Mowbray) and Sol Connection (Daniel Halldorsson) have been writing and producing music together for 35 years and have been good friends a lot longer than that. Unbelievably, they were both born with the same abnormality, a rare condition where they entered the world playing instruments, Dwight as a basoonist and Dan as a Piano Accordionist (2 instruments modern synthesis remains unable to reproduce to this day).
Their live sets are performed with nothing but a cheap casio keyboard, a dodgy old guitar and a synthesizer made of string and plastic cups created by MacGuyver in his heyday. The fact that their live set runs at all is a miracle of modern technology. They have exceptional abilities in name dropping, having travelled to such festivals as Soulclipse in Turkey and working their way around Europe. Astrix. Having danced along side such artists as Sonkite, Atmos and Simon Posford they have shown, time and time again, that they have what it takes to get on down and boogey!
