Hey there Folks!
Regen Records is launching a competition for their next 2009 album release – Regeneration: psychedelic morning sounds from across the nation.
This morning psytrance compilation will consist of 10 original tracks: 7 tracks from established Australian artists (including Terrafractyl, Daheen vs Psyboriginal, ONDA, Akin and Thermohaline), leaving 3 three spots open to usher in some new Australian talent. Regen Records is launching a competition to fill these three remaining spaces on the album and to support Australian artists and the psytrance music scene. The winners may also have the chance to play their tunes live at the album launch party.
Requirements to enter:
• You have to be an unreleased Australian artist
• You must provide a single original track to Regen Records in a suitable format within the deadline specified
• You must include a short artist bio
• Only the first 50 tracks received by Regen Records will be eligible for the competition.
• You have to be willing to provide your track to Regen Records for release on the compilation
• Tracks must be of the morning psytrance genre, in 16-bit (MP3 or WAV) format and no longer than 8 mins in length. Please include the artist and track name in the file extension.
How to enter:
• Please use the Regen Records email address to submit your track: info@regenrecords.com.au
• The easiest way to send your track to us is through a file transfer website (e.g. you-send-it or send-space).
Who Decides?
Regen Records is putting together a panel of judges from across the Australian psytrance music scene to ensure the process is democratic and transparent. The three winning tracks will be selected based on their originality, production quality, morning dance-floor appeal, and general psychedeliciousness. Extra points for an environmentally-themed track! We’re looking for morning psytrance tracks, but we’re pretty flexible – tracks should be around 140-145bpm and suitable for a morning set at your local doof… so it’s up to you to get creative.
Timeframe: to be launched on Monday 17th August until the first week of October 2009 (approx. six weeks). So start tweaking your best track or get started on a fresh new one and send it in to us!
